The Gainsborough Academy Ethos & Vision

“We aim to send all young people into an ever-changing world able and qualified to play their full part in it “

At The Gainsborough Academy we want all students to leave able and qualified to play their full part in the world. This means that we want each student to start their lives equipped with not only the qualifications, in terms of GCSE grades, but also the skills and attributes that they will need in order to deal with the challenges of life beyond their time at school.

We put a strong emphasis on our core values, referred to as ‘The Gainsborough Way’ and this is the framework that underpins the high expectations we have of the students, the workforce and the local community as well as wider stakeholders.

At The Gainsborough Academy we want all students to leave able and qualified to play their full part in an ever-changing world, through an ambitious, creative and innovative curriculum which empowers students with the skills, knowledge and attributes to allow them to succeed with the challenges of life beyond their time at school.

We aim to engender a love of learning, self-belief and aspiration by:

  1. Removing barriers to learning
  2. Developing skills for learning
  3. Developing personal attributes
  4. Enriching students’ experiences and broadening their horizons

We are 100% child centred and believe that all children have the right to a quality education, and we encourage, challenge and support every child, regardless of their background, to achieve their personal best. Our ethos is simple – ‘we would never do less for other peoples children than we would do for own’.

My staff and I are excited by the prospect of working with you, it is an exciting time at The Gainsborough Academy and I am proud of not just the journey so far but also the direction we are heading.
