TGA Sponsored Walk 2021

School News 22nd Oct 2021

What an amazing day at The Gainsborough Academy, raising money for charity and funds for our school.

“I am so proud of the staff and students of the academy who today completed a 10 mile walk. For many of the students this is the first time they have ever walked this distance but they believed in themselves and completed the distance. They can all be so proud of their achievements.” – Mrs Skelton, Headteacher.

“This walk was for a very good cause and so many students participated. I could see the ambition of the Students to complete the walk and I’m delighted we all completed! Everyone lived the Gainsborough Way. I also want to thank the Community for supporting us during the walk!” – Ollie White, School President.
“Regarding the sponsored walk on Thurs 21st October. The walk passed through my mum’s field in Upton and her and I watched most of it from her field gate. I would just like to say how incredibly proud you should be of all the children. They were so polite and well behaved a credit to the school and their parents. Many of them spoke to myself and Mum. My mum is 93 years old and really enjoyed watching them she said it was better than watching television.  It was a joy to see 2 of my step granddaughters taking part and enjoying themselves. All staff involved also did an incredible job as well it was very well organised. Well done everyone.” – Local Resident in Upton.
