TGA students lit up the room at the thrilling National Grid Renewable Energy STEM Day! Tasked with powering a small village, students became energy engineers for the day, exploring the entire journey of domestic electricity — from generation to home. Working in dynamic teams, each student took on a role representing real careers in the energy industry. Their mission: choose a renewable energy source, design and build a working device to generate electricity, and plan the most efficient transmission route to deliver power to homes.
But the challenge didn’t stop there — students also had to consider the social impact of their projects, planning how to engage and support the local community while minimizing disruption. The day culminated in a public forum, where each team proudly presented their renewable energy networks. It was a high-energy day of teamwork, creativity, and future-forward thinking — lighting the way for tomorrow’s innovators.
Well done to all those who took part!
