Year 10 students from The Gainsborough Academy recently embarked on an unforgettable trip to the newly opened Air and Space Institute in Newark – an inspiring day filled with innovation, hands-on learning, and future career exploration.
Our students stepped into a world of cutting-edge technology, aerospace innovation, and STEM-focused career opportunities. From piloting high-tech flight simulators to exploring real aircraft and interactive exhibits, the visit brought science, engineering, and aviation to life in a dynamic, real-world setting.
Guided by industry professionals, students learned about the wide range of career pathways in aerospace, space exploration, and aviation engineering – many left with new ambitions.
This visit forms a vital part of the Wickersley Partnership Trust’s Enrichment Promise, which ensures that every student has access to meaningful experiences beyond the classroom. These enrichment opportunities are designed to broaden horizons, ignite passions, and build aspirations, and this trip did exactly that.
It was truly an out-of-this-world experience, and one that has opened our students’ eyes to the limitless possibilities their futures could hold.
