On Saturday 1st November, Mr Wilby attended FitXPo at the Birmingham NEC, where he competed in the A/BPU Powerlifting Games. The competition was fierce, but Mr Wilby delivered a perfect round, going 9 for 9 (27 white lights) – meaning nine flawless lifts with no faults in sight. His hard work and determination paid off as he not only took home 1st place gold in the Classic Raw Open Men’s category but was also crowned Best Lifter of the Day!
Thanks to his success, Mr Wilby has now qualified for several major competitions in 2026, including the Arnold Sports Festival in March.
His dedication, discipline, and passion for powerlifting are truly inspiring. Mr Wilby hopes his achievements show all students at The Gainsborough Academy that with perseverance and self-belief, you can achieve anything you set your mind to.
