On Saturday 12th September, Mr Wilby travelled to The Pendulum in Manchester to compete at the AWPC World Championships – Single Lift Bench Press.
Competing in the highly competitive 82.5kg Open Raw Division, Mr Wilby faced a strong field of lifters after months of hard work and preparation. He started strongly, successfully completing his opening bench press of 130kg. Although he narrowly missed his second and third attempts, his opening lift was enough to secure an incredible 3rd place finish, making him the 3rd place lifter in the world in his division.
Finishing on the podium at a World Championship is a tremendous achievement and a testament to his dedication and hard work. A huge well done to Mr Wilby on this fantastic result!
