13th September 2025 will certainly be a day to remember for our Y10 student, Cody, who proudly competed in the G2 Class German Open in Hamburg – representing Great Britain in one of the most competitive taekwondo tournaments in Europe.
Out of 33 athletes in his weight category, Cody battled his way through five tough matches, showcasing incredible skill, focus and determination.
🥋 Highlights of Cody’s journey:
Round of 32 – Beat Germany with dominant scores of 12 – 2 and 13 – 1.
Round of 16 – Defeated a GB rival in a nail-biting match. The officials awarded Cody the win for his technical performance.
Quarter Final – Victory against Germany by TKO stoppage.
Semi Final – A thrilling contest vs Romania, edging out by just a single point in both the second and third rounds.
Final – A hard-fought battle against Israel, securing an incredible Silver Medal! 🥈
This is his best achievement to date on the European stage, earning not only ranking points but also respect for his persistence, maturity and world-class performances.
Next up, he will be competing in the Polish Open in Warsaw. We can’t wait to see what he achieves next!
