We are pleased to announce that Marshalls Sports under 14 girls represented Gainsborough at the national ESF tournament this weekend!
They finished in third place, narrowly missing out on a semi final position. Although they didn’t quite make the finals, they were against top quality competition, facing teams from Newcastle, Leicester and Hull to name a few. They were also the only team to take points from the group winners!
Throughout the tournament, match officials were asked to look for specific moments where an individual stood out to them. These moments were to be picked from 16 teams in the age group. Ashanti was chosen, as she fantastically took on four players, and scored a goal. For this, Ashanti received the award and a signed football from Tottenham Hotspurs hall of fame star, Ledly King and Aston Villers’ Jordan Nobbs.
